The discreet IA40-3 is a highly versatile amplifier featuring digital, analogue and Bluetooth® inputs. Designed for easy installation, the bespoke fixings allow it to be positioned in multiple locations: on a wall, cabinet, stand or behind a television.

Ideal for smaller environments, the IA40-3 Installation Amplifier will perfectly power in-ceiling speakers in a kitchen, loft room or bedroom. It also works beautifully when paired with Monitor Audio smaller bookshelf speakers in a bedroom, study or sitting room.

Best of all, if there is a television in the setup, the IA40-3 can be mounted behind the screen – using the supplied bespoke bracket – to drive a Monitor Audio Passive Soundbar. (The customisable brackets can be bent to fit and have flexible break-off sections for maximum installation versatility.)

With 40 W of power over three channels at 4 ohms, or 60 W over two channels, the IA40-3 will drive speakers or passive soundbars to deliver a lively and precise sound.

If extra bass is required, an active subwoofer can be connected to the IA40-3 via the sub/line out. Whatever the audio source, this is an amplifier with all the right connections. The IA40-3 features optical and analogue inputs and the latest Bluetooth® wireless technology, powered by Qualcomm® aptXTM Audio, to allow easy and superior pairing with mobile devices. The IA40-3 has been designed to be discreetly tucked away and its unique heatsink fin allows cooling in the tightest of spaces.

Compact installation amp

If you’ve got two or three pairs of speakers that need a signal, but not much space for the amp, the IA40-3 is ideal. About the size of a wi-fi router, this installation amp easily fits where full size units won’t. Place it in a cupboard, bookcase or even behind your TV.

3-channel audio

For larger rooms with three pairs of ceiling or wall speakers, the IA40-3 makes the perfect amp. 3-channel audio drives up to six speakers. With a power rating of 30 watts per channel, there’s ample oomph for room-filling sound. Alternatively, use the amp in 2-channel mode and the power increases to 50 watts per channel.

Subwoofer output

In you fancy even more power, the sub output lets you connect your choice of active subwoofer. The RCA phono socket can also be used a line output for audio looping.

Bluetooth input

Featuring a built-in Bluetooth receiver, the IA40-3 accepts wireless music streaming from your smartphone, tablet or other Bluetooth enabled music source. Stream from your favourite streaming service, such as Spotify, Apple Music or Deezer, or simply tap into your stored music library.

Digital and analogue inputs

Fitted with an optical digital input, the IA40-3 is ideal for connecting a TV, games console or other digital source. There’s also a 3.5mm analogue input for any music source with an analogue output, such as a CD player.

Install-friendly

A whole host of extra features make the IA40-3 install-friendly. These include IR and RS232 interfaces – ideal for controlling the amp via your home automation system. The supplied bracket fits many purposes, including attaching to a VESA-mounting equipped TV, keeping the amp out of sight.
