Monitor Audio Silver 200 7G - Floor Standing Speaker - Pair
Sleek, compact and elegant, Monitor Audio’s Silver 200 7G speakers feature a new RST II mid-bass driver design for the ultimate in clarity. Perfectly suited to most living rooms, these speakers are designed to make extraordinary sound part of your everyday world.
In creating the Monitor Audio Silver 200 7G speakers, they made lots of small technical decisions – such as enhancing their Rigid Surface Technology (RST) II and coming up with a new crossover system. But all of these complex moves were done with a simple aim in mind. Great, lifelike audio, across all types of music and for all our customers. A choice of real-wood veneers – including new Natural Walnut and Ash options – enables you to integrate your speakers perfectly with the rest of your home, while even the smallest touches make a difference, like the new moulded feet designed specifically for modern hardwood floors and carpets. You might not notice every feature right away, but you can rest assured they have carefully considered them all.
Seven generations of awesomeness
Monitor Audio's Silver 200 tower speakers have been fan-favorites in the audio community since their introduction in the early 2000s, thanks to their ability to deliver deep, rich sound with no coloration. Now this floor-standing speaker is in its seventh generation. The Silver 200 7G features improved driver technology, new stabilizing outrigger feet, and an improved crossover network.
You can use a pair of them and enjoy the quick articulation of their drivers on your favorite tracks. They easily fill all but the largest rooms with dynamic, engaging sound. A pair of them work well in home theater systems too, immersing you in action scenes and dramatic moments alike. Monitor's recipe for such great sound? The answer lies in the drivers.
Updated drivers for more lifelike sound
The Silver 200 7G sports a 1" tweeter that uses Monitor's iconic gold dome Ceramic-Coated Aluminum Magnesium (C-CAM) material. But this latest version has a new waveguide designed to eliminate as much distortion as possible. The company also revamped the tweeter's magnet for tighter control of the driver, resulting in more detail across its frequency range.
The twin 5-1/4 woofers use an improved C-CAM cone material featuring Monitor's latest Rigid Surface Technology (RST II) for tighter mid and bass response and better dynamics. There's also an improved crossover system that helps the woofers and tweeter work together better to provide a smooth, non-fatiguing response. That means clearer vocals, more realistic-sounding instruments, and sound you can enjoy for hours on end.
A sturdy, eye-catching cabinet
Having owned some of Monitor's speakers myself over the years, I can attest that they're sturdy as can be. The Silver 200 uses thick MDF (medium-density fiberboard) both to make the speakers more durable and to resist vibrations that are notorious for muddying sound and decreasing sonic accuracy. The finish is eye-catchingly beautiful, and the included magnetic grille is stylish. The speaker looks great with or without the grille attached.
New molded outrigger and feet for extra stability
The updated outrigger and feet on the bottom of the speaker are a nice touch. They serve to keep the speaker stable and less prone to tipping over, as well as to minimize speaker contact with your floor. Carpet spikes and rubber pads for hardwood floors are included.
